Calorie Calculator
Estimates your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) — the calories you burn per day — using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation.
About you
Used because the standard formula differs slightly by average body composition.
The formula behind this calculator
This tool uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, widely regarded as one of the more accurate BMR formulas for the general population: for men, BMR = 10×weight(kg) + 6.25×height(cm) − 5×age + 5; for women, BMR = 10×weight(kg) + 6.25×height(cm) − 5×age − 161. That baseline is then multiplied by an activity factor to estimate total daily calories burned (TDEE).
A pound of body fat is roughly 3,500 calories. A steady daily deficit or surplus of about 500 calories works out to roughly one pound (~0.45 kg) per week; 250 calories is a gentler, more sustainable pace.
Formula-based estimates like this one are less precise for very muscular or very lean individuals — a body-composition-aware method (or a metabolic test) will be more accurate.
Treat this as a starting point, not a prescription — actual needs vary and this isn't a substitute for advice from a doctor or registered dietitian.
